Schools update

News from Essex County Council that they "prefer" for the Thomas Lord audley site to stay as part of the Stanway Federation,  but for Alderman Blaxill school to close after 2014.

The view on the street is that keeping TLA site open is sensible, and the Alderman Blaxill site where numbers choosing to attend are much lower will be used by the Federation up until 2014.

A lot can happen between now and 2014, so watch this space

One thing is certain,  in my view, The Federation is the right way to manage education, the standards, and the numbers game in the area.

I will be supporting the closest option to the old "option 4" over the coming weeks of consultaton

The Lib Dem continue to do nothing to support either school,

It is only us, the residents, that can and will keep a school on our local estates.....

Local School -- Thomas Lord Audley site

As a local Councillor I have been supporting Thomas Lord audley school and indeed Alderman Blaxill school for some time. As you will have seen, Essex County Council intend to shut both Schools and bus the young people to other Schools in Colchester.

I remain opposed to loosing these Schools, as I believe that education can improve by management of the School via the Stanway School.
