More Litter picks done - and the School Road "pond area" Cleared

Posted by councillordaveharris on April 5, 2010 at 7:02 AM

After the past few weeks we have carried out litter picks in lots of key areas, with more planned

"You can really see the difference" said one Birch Glen resident

"Keep up the good work, you are getting there"  was the response from a King George Road man.

"Thank you" said a Willows Resident

Add to that the recent major clean up of the pond area off School Road (commonly known as the Swamp) organised by Councillor Dave Harris, has removed a whole truck load of rubbish.

Dave Harris negotiated with Probation service for some community offenders to do the work under supervision.  They made a great start, and it made the area look much better.

Dave said, " Whilst there are those who just want to run round putting our area down, and there are some at this time of year (election time I'm afraid) who want to beat on about politics, we in this team have made sure the community comes first"

More clear ups planned for Finchingfield Way and other areas over the next couple of months
