Dave Harris writes about himself....................
I am happily married with children (Children who are now all grown up) and we now have grandchildren that are the apple of our eyes...
I have worked within the Transport Industry for over 35 years, in the Rail business.
Just turned 62, born of parents in Dovercourt, (Near Harwich in Essex) who instilled in me a sense of social justice and community reponsibility.
I have lived in Berechurch Ward for over 27 years.
It is an honour to be chosen by the people to be a Berechurch ward Councillor - elected in 2004 - re elected in 2007 and again in 2011 with a much increased majority...
Then Elected as County Councillor in May 2013 with a goodly majority, supported by people from Shrub End and Berechurch for the all year round work we do as a team.
As a school Governor for Thomas Lord Audley School and Monkwick Junior School, I am very supportive of the work all the Schools do in our area..
I am a big fan of Police Community Support Officers, and Zone Wardens.
I am keen on improving the area we live in, but not at the expense of traditional values. The area of Berechurch is a pleasant place to live, but I believe we must defeat some of ills of modern society, and conserve our way of life.
I am very supportive of Neighbour hood watch, and residents associations, both great examples of people power, which I feel is so important in a modern world.
I am acutely aware of all the organisations, clubs, and churches (together with many individuals) who try to make the area a pleasant place to live. The clubs, societies etc within Berechurch are brilliant at bringing people together. I am keen on ideas that will give the young people an activity and assist their development.
